Do You Love Me or Him? [Showbiz]

[Not a bait-and-switch. The entire novel was rewritten twice. After finishing the reality dating show novel, I rewrote this one.]

*Proud starlet × scheming young master / younger man / male substitute

Wen Yu graduated from a prestigious acting school and has been popular for ten years, but she still can't figure out how to climb the ranks. Good scripts never make it into the hands of a rising star like her.

She has no choice but to try some unconventional methods, pulling strings wherever she can until she finally gets an invitation to a private dinner with a big shot.

She'd barely set foot inside before realizing just how deep the waters ran.

The big shot bowed and scraped to a young man who had just arrived, and even her mentor treated him with the utmost respect.

Amid the swirling smoke, Wen Yu lifted her eyes. Her first thought was:

This man looks so familiar.

He looks too much like the unattainable ex-boyfriend she once loved.

The whole dinner, everyone fawned over him while she sat there looking glum.

Her mentor scolded her: "If you get on this important man's good side, won't everything fall into place?"

Wen Yu was disdainful. What could a pretty boy barely in his twenties possibly accomplish?

Still, she didn't want to waste her mentor's efforts, so she agreed to attend another gathering.

The second time they met, Wen Yu tried to ingratiate herself with him. "Fancy seeing you here."

Ji Heng kept his usual gentle expression. "It's no coincidence. I wanted to see you."

Ji Heng came from a distinguished family and had rarely known defeat.

The one time he did, it was because of Wen Yu.

He'd assumed she was deeply in love with him, that they were in love and perfectly suited to each other.

Then Wen Yu's first boyfriend was exposed, and it turned out the man looked a little like him.

When it came to who came first, he was the substitute.

Ji Heng had never suffered such a humiliation and decided to ignore her for a week.

On the third day, Wen Yu's rumored romance shot to the top of the trending charts.

He took a closer look. Well, not only did the rumored love interest resemble her beloved, he was a director too.

Ji Heng couldn't sit still. He found her and said, with a mix of love and resentment, "Wen Yu, if you want a substitute, I'm the best choice."

His jade-like gentleness vanished. His gaze turned venomous as a snake's. "If you dare find someone else, just try it."

*Ambitious, ruthless woman × deceptively gentle, dark and obsessive man

*The heroine is not a virgin; she has many exes. Both leads are pragmatists who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
