A Leaf 'Lost' in the Mountains

Dongyue, ruler of the underworld, raised a greedy Taotie who had eaten nearly all of her own body, leaving only her soul.

Over tens of thousands of years of chasing and fleeing, Dongyue became such a good cook that the smell of her food could bring the Taotie obediently back, no matter how far she had run. Unfortunately, Dongyue didn't know that no matter how good her cooking was, she was the one the Taotie had always wanted to eat.

To dispel the fierce, baleful energy that made the Taotie lose control and give in to greed,

Dongyue took her through the realms of the living and the dead to the peaceful modern world. At the point where the two realms met, they opened a shop called Atonement, doing business with both sides. This would help the Taotie accumulate virtue and atone for her sins.
