The Third Year After I Broke Up with Him

Lin Beining and Shen Ji were childhood friends. They had known each other for ten years, been in love for seven, and spent four years tormenting each other. In the end, the once-celebrated love story fell apart because Lin Beining kept making a mess of everything. The two became strangers, leaving nothing but wreckage behind. Shen Ji packed his things and walked away with composure. All that remained was Lin Beining, a wretched mess, trying to chase after him. Lin Beining spent two years trying to win him back, but met with rejection time and again. In the first year, he chased after Shen Ji in tears, begging for forgiveness. In the second year, he no longer dared show himself around Shen Ji, and could only watch his former lover from a careful distance. Then, in the third year, he died, never again able to voice the remorse in his heart. As he lay dying, he thought with immense relief: Thank goodness. This nightmare is finally over. Shen Ji, goodbye forever. But the nightmare did not end with his death. While waiting to be reincarnated, Lin Beining, now a ghost, saw Shen Ji in the room. Shen Ji was holding his ashes, silent and weighed down with grief. A short story. Bad ending. There should be an open-ended dream epilogue. Theme: Sincerity is priceless
