After Being Picked Up by the Crown Prince

When Qi Yong found Dongli, she was in a corner of Kaiping County, fighting a little beggar tooth and nail.

She had found half a steamed bun, but the little beggar was half a head taller and thought he could bully her.

All of Dongli's memories stopped on the day Kaiping fell, three years ago.

Everything before she turned ten was a blank to her.

But it didn't matter. After the lofty Crown Prince took her in, she was raised in the Eastern Palace and made a commandery princess.

When the Crown Prince ascended the throne, she was made a princess.

They said the Great Qian Dynasty had neither an empress dowager nor an empress, and Princess Dongli was the most noble woman in the realm.

Only Dongli knew that when she gazed up at the stars at night, the man seated on the dragon throne was like the moon in the heavens: she could bask in his light, but never reach him.

When Qi Yong found Dongli, she had lost her childhood memories and could no longer remember how he used to carry her on his shoulders as they explored every corner of the imperial city.

To keep her from remembering the painful memories of her family and home being destroyed, Qi Yong was willing to let her forget him too.

He guarded the realm only to give her a life of splendor. His heart was like an abyss, and only her light could pierce its darkness.
