The Day Is Too Short

Xia Xingfeng presented as an alpha at eighteen.

Her girlfriend, also an alpha, couldn't accept the change and broke up with her.

Ji Huan presented as an omega at eighteen.

She didn't have a girlfriend, but she did feel a little embarrassed in front of all her alpha friends.

They never expected to run into each other at the hospital, each holding the results of their presentation test.

Their childhood scuffles still felt like yesterday. Ji Huan had always thought she'd present as an alpha, and she'd mercilessly bullied Xia Xingfeng, who seemed so much like an omega. When they met again, they were practically seeing red.

Infuriated by Xia Xingfeng's searching gaze, Ji Huan stormed off.

Before long, though, she came running back and leaned against Xia Xingfeng's doorway. Her eyes were uneasy, but her tone was as fierce as could be.

"Xia Xingfeng! Come mark me!"

Xia Xingfeng: Ji Huan was so bold as a kid.

Ji Huan: Xia Xingfeng was so easy to tease as a kid.

They fell silent.

Notes:

1. Alphas develop a secondary sex organ, like men.

2. There will be a coming-out storyline. In this setting, ABO people are rare, and gender is a primary sex characteristic.

3. There are school scenes involving roughhousing, not bullying. Please don't overinterpret them.
