[Insectoid] One God-Slaying Trick a Day

Also coming soon: Immersive Crime Scene [Livestream]. Blurb at the very bottom. The Imperial Capital of the Insect Star is home to a vile insect murderer who targets male insects and scorns the Insect God! As one high-profile male insect after another is brutally killed, and the Insect God, worshipped for thousands of years, is subjected to all manner of insults, every insect in the entire race is enraged. They are willing to pay any price to find the mastermind. Xu Linxi is a top-tier male insect, both widely admired and deeply threatened. He volunteers to join the investigation team and tracks down the rumored leader of a mysterious female-insect tribe, Liu Yun, who was convicted of slaughtering all the male insects in his clan. [The first time I cut open his body, I was terrified. I thought I might have done something wrong. Scarlet blood sprayed out, warm and covering my eyes. It felt so warm. But then I suddenly realized he was howling in pain, too. Good heavens, even demons can feel pain? And that excited me.] The Insect God left seven tenets for his devout followers: reproduction, unity, loyalty, dignity, trust, friendship, and freedom. And blood is seeping into dignity. The purpose of this slaughter is to kill the god. Reader's guide: *The pairing serves the plot, and the leads do not end up together. The main focus is solving the case and moving the story forward. If you're here for a romance-focused story, you can leave now. Sending love! *The blurb may seem a little literary, but that's all the information I can reveal QAQ. The story's core is the double reveal of the identities and the killer, so I don't dare say more for fear of spoilers. Sorry, I'll do my best to make it more horror and suspense focused. *I wanted a modern criminal investigation setting with oppression comparable to ancient times. The insect race seemed like the best fit (sorry). The setting is exaggerated for the sake of the plot. In many other stories, female and male insects are equal, so please don't get the wrong idea about the genre if this is your first time reading it. Setting and plot developed from 23.12.29 to 25.4.19. The setting and background were revised on 2025.11.30 due to creative issues. Screenshots of the discussions about the setting are available as proof. Immersive Crime Scene [Livestream] blurb: Office worker Li Zhen joins the crew of an obscure immersive mystery-reality show. She'll play scripted roles, assist the detective or become one herself, solve cold cases, and find the real culprit, with the whole process streamed live to the entire internet. Li Zhen happily takes the detective's script and solves case after case. At the final vote to identify the culprit, she gets a phone call. The caller tells her, "Find a way to get out of there now. This isn't a murder mystery game. The victim is real, and so is the case. You're in danger." "Why? How can you prove it?" "The victim is you." Li Zhen hangs up. The killer is smiling at her, waiting for her to announce the result. An unidentified female corpse suddenly appears downtown, and Lin Shuo immediately leads a team to investigate. The victim's information soon appears on his desk, along with a newly launched variety show. On the screen, the victim smiles at him. "I'm Li Zhen, the detective in our Sunny Town. Today is x month x, and we've come to..." The Sunny Town Happiness Restaurant family massacre, one of the unsolved cases from twenty years ago. Lin Shuo watches Li Zhen drape an arm around a smiling young woman. In this Livestream, everyone is destined to die. Theme: All lives are equal.
