A Gust of Wind

According to Baidu Baike, a gust is a meteorological term for a special kind of airflow: wind speed suddenly fluctuates over a short period of time. It usually refers to a " 순간 maximum wind speed."

For Qiao Yue, Li Ruoyu was the one who set the gusts of his youth in motion.

He had always liked her, from high school to college, and from college into adulthood. She had boyfriends, while he never dated anyone. He didn't think of himself as waiting for her, and she never treated him as a backup. Whenever she was involved with someone, he kept a polite distance, sending greetings on holidays and festivals like a gentle old friend.

Later, she returned to Beijing, saying she'd brought three huge suitcases and wasn't going back for good. He went to pick her up at the airport as an old friend. On the way home, she smiled and asked whether there were any quality single young men in tech at his company whom he could introduce her to.

He hesitated for a moment. "What about me?"

The gust rose again, and this time it wouldn't die down so easily.
