In the year 3050 of the Solar Calendar, humanity had traveled aboard interstellar arks and rebuilt civilization on the Origin Planet. Using the planet's new energy source, the Vanity Federation created a realistic virtual continent called Vanity, where people could experience a second life through mental projections.
But on the first day the game was released, players discovered that they could no longer log out. Once their mental energy was depleted past a certain point, they would die for good!
A virtual apocalypse had descended upon the world. In reality, people who hadn't entered the game were forced to endure the pain of losing their loved ones. Inside the game, brutal battles and struggles for survival were taking place everywhere.
But Shi Zhu discovered that not only could he log out, he also had a mental space of his own, allowing him to bring things from the game into reality!
In the center of Eternal Plaza, the young man calmly explained, "We've confirmed that everyone is unable to log out because their mental bodies have been contaminated by the energy on the Origin Planet. I have to bring everyone's gaming pods back to Earth and activate the signal source there. Using full-dive modeling and sensory technology, I can pull everyone out of the mysterious realm."
"But we have to act during a world event. I need a team of twenty-five people to hold off the evil god Asax!"
The crowd fell silent. The silver-haired man perched on a stone statue let out a brief chuckle. "I'm in."
Shi Zhu stared, momentarily dazed. "Ye... Ye Shi!?"
"Do I look like him?" the man said. "He's my ancestor, but my name is Ye Cang."
Hiss...
"He's from the Ye family!"
"Isn't he the older brother of the God of War, Ye Lin? I heard his legs are disabled..."
"No wonder he's so good at Vanity. He's from the Ye family!"
"If he's from the Ye family, this mission is sure to succeed, right?"
