[Pride and Prejudice] A Noble Marriage Contract

{This novel is complete!} [Part One] The bouquet at her best friend's wedding sent Annie tumbling into an English country estate two hundred years in the past. The master of Rosings Estate had died, and as his sole heir, Annie de Bower's future seemed to have been laid out in full by her mother, Lady Catherine. A fragile body, a domineering mother, a declining estate, and what seemed to be an arranged engagement... Even with a terrible hand, Annie would play it beautifully! [Part Two] She works out, restores the estate, invests in factories, and builds connections... Her scattered memories of the future are her only golden finger. Miss de Bower's business empire stretches from the British Isles to mainland Europe, while her suitors line up from Kent all the way to London. Her "fiance" has long since been captivated by this strange and resilient soul. This thorny rose has taken root in his heart, and can never be transplanted again. * Annie: "I know nothing of music, painting, dancing, singing, or modern literature. My bearing, gait, and conversation are hardly elegant or charming, either. Darcy, I can't see a single quality of an aristocratic lady in myself." Darcy: "You don't have to obey me, stand behind me, or hide your light." Darcy: "You aren't a fairy-tale princess waiting to be rescued. You are simply yourself." We share the cold, the storms, the thunder, and the lightning; we share the mist, the drifting clouds, and the rainbow. As if forever apart, yet bound together for life. To the Oak Tree by Shu Ting A guide for readers: 1. The heroine has a dual identity early on, growing from a baronet's daughter into a countess. (Alternate history; readers looking for strict historical accuracy, please be aware.) 2. The male lead is Fitzwilliam Darcy. The character belongs to Austen; any out-of-character behavior is mine. 3. A steady-paced, atypical farming story with some elements of a wish-fulfillment novel. I hope you find it an enjoyable, comfortable read. 4. Since you've made it this far, why not bookmark it and leave a friendly comment? *_* Currently updating: [Classics Crossover] The Atypical Lady Ye Shujin transmigrates and discovers she has become Margaret Dashwood, a minor character in Sense and Sensibility. After their father's death, the will of the late estate owner leaves all of Norland Park to their brother John, who lives elsewhere, but he goes back on his word. The sisters each have only a thousand pounds in dowry, and are about to be driven from their home. Having taken over the original owner's body, Ye Shujin makes up her mind: She will make John keep the promise he made their father on his deathbed! She'll protect her family and make sure they live better lives! * "Not all girls are made of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Some girls are born to represent adventure, fine wine, wisdom, and fearlessness." In the early nineteenth century, tradition and social prejudice denied women the ability and the right to support themselves through work. Their dowries were meager, so the marriage prospects of the Dashwood girls were Mrs. Dashwood's greatest worry. The eldest, Elinor, is reserved and gentle, yet sensible and cool-headed, and not good at expressing herself. The second, Marianne, is passionate and lively, but always lets her emotions get the better of her. And the youngest, Margaret, has become an astonishing cook and an eccentric dreamer ever since she was rescued from drowning... Faced with the culinary wasteland of the British Empire, Margaret says: I just want to open a private restaurant and support myself! Mrs. Dashwood is even more distressed. How can a gentleman's daughter go into business to earn money? The "atypical lady" leaves young gentlemen at a loss for words. * George Knightley suffered a serious illness, and when he woke, he was left with a loss of taste. For his own safety, he could only keep the secret to himself. Everyone says he is warm and courteous, but old-fashioned in his daily life, down to every precise and dull meal. No wonder no lady had made her way into his "estate" even though he was nearing thirty. Just as he was resigning himself to never again tasting the rich variety of food, a lively little daisy came tumbling into his life. The novel dishes she made with her own hands actually awakened his dulled sense of taste. Sour, sweet, bitter, and spicy all became vividly clear. Margaret was a brilliant star, lighting up his dark night sky. 1. Margaret Dashwood x George Knightley [An atypical lady with brilliant cooking skills x A high-quality gentleman with a dulled sense of taste] 2. A classics crossover featuring Sense and Sensibility, Emma, and Pride and Prejudice. The original characters will not be vilified. Knightley is sixteen years older than Margaret. You can enjoy this even if you haven't read the original works; I'll write it as though it's an original story. 3. Some farming elements, not a wish-fulfillment story, and no heartache. Theme: The souls of modern women refuse to become dependents. They pursue independent identities and equal love.
