The Knight's Ironclad Romance

[Blurb]

Mei Zuo, born into a family of martial artists, transmigrates into a book called "Crowned King" after an accident.

"Crowned King" tells the fiery story of a protagonist who levels up and fights monsters while gathering underlings and collecting members for his harem, ultimately defeating the final boss, the Pope, with the help of his golden finger and various allies.

Rumor has it the Pope is a ruthless boss with countless followers. In the end, the protagonist defeats him only after sacrificing his underlings and offering up his entire harem, then becomes king.

When Mei Zuo enters the book, the Pope's power is at its peak. Nearly everyone is his devout follower, and even the royal family has to act according to his wishes.

With nothing but his martial arts skills and not a penny to his name, Mei Zuo decides to get a secure job and lie low. After several rounds of screening and trials, he becomes a Light Knight guarding the temple.

But on Mei Zuo's first day at work, the final boss, the Pope, stands in the cloister in flowing robes, his handsome face wearing a gentle smile as he gazes at him.

Mei Zuo stares dazedly. I must have come to the wrong place.

The Pope calmly explains, "No, you're my newly appointed knight. You may even become a Holy Knight or Chief Knight Commander someday."

They say the Pope is a short-tempered germaphobe who despises homosexuality. As a closeted gay man, Mei Zuo carefully attends to the Pope, afraid the boss might be in a bad mood and kill him as a sacrifice.

It isn't until the protagonist's group shows up that Mei Zuo finally escapes the Pope's side.

But to his surprise, the Pope turns evil after he disappears.

The Pope: "You once came to me through a storm of blades. You said that when I was stained with blood, it was like a rose in the rain. You said it was a knight's fierce and romantic ideal."

"Now the rose will never be caught in the rain again. Does the knight's fierce, romantic ideal still hold true?"
