[KO One] Bestow the Light

Ding Xiaoyu's first eighteen years were a bleak struggle.

Inside a Baroque building with pointed arches, murals hung silently high on marble walls, sacred, peaceful, and pure. He looked up without feeling a thing and joined his hands in an absent-minded prayer.

He wondered: if gods truly existed, why was his life the only one full of hardship and uncertainty?

On an ordinary night, a bonfire burning, Ding Xiaoyu sat before his tent by the river, quietly watching the ripples stirred by the breeze.

A shadow fell from the empty night sky, like a glimmer of light slipping through sparse leaves. From that moment on, he was no longer alone.

"Maybe gods really do exist. From now on, my prayers won't be unanswered."
