Quit Pretending

*A genuinely refined scoundrel of an orthopedic surgeon X a faux-cold, tsundere little beauty

At an alumni reunion, Pei Ran was unlucky enough to draw a dare: invite her high school crush to the movies.

With the call on speaker, Pei Ran spoke into her phone, a little awkwardly. “Are you free to watch a movie together this weekend?”

Everyone knew Pei Ran had pursued Mu Boyan with great fanfare back in the day, but the boy had never been interested. They all held their breath, ready for the show.

Then Mu Boyan laughed on the other end of the line. “Sure. Are we watching at your place or mine?”

Pei Ran's hand shook as she gripped the phone. “Sorry, wrong number.”

Everyone: ???

That night, as soon as Pei Ran got home, someone cornered her at the door.

The man grabbed her slender waist from behind and leaned close to her ear, his voice husky and sexy. “Getting bold, are you? Who were you planning to watch a movie with?”
