Gu Tunan was 185 centimeters tall, an excellent basketball player with exceptionally long legs and a remarkably handsome face. His eyes were especially beautiful. When he looked at someone, they were so gentle and deep that it felt as if he could drown them in his gaze.
But Gu Tunan was an idiot.
As a sports-track student at No. 1 High School, he only needed half the total score to pass his academic classes. Gu Tunan had scraped in right at the cutoff.
On the school basketball team, most of the athletic students were smooth talkers who loved socializing. Some even had countless girlfriends both inside and outside school. Gu Tunan, though, couldn't even string a sentence together.
On the school's confession wall, plenty of girls had fantasized about Gu Tunan's face and body heat. But after meeting him, every one of them ran back to the confession wall, furiously typing, "Holy crap, Gu Tunan is actually an idiot," before fleeing at top speed.
One day, Gu Tunan clutched a book and cautiously edged over to Chen Wei.
"Teacher Zhang told you to help me study."
"I know."
"Teacher Zhang also told me to sit next to you."
"I know that, too."
"But I'm an idiot..."
Chen Wei ignored the ridicule on everyone's faces behind Gu Tunan, as well as the undisguised pity in her best friend's and the other girls' eyes. She said, "Who said that? I don't know, and I won't know from now on, either."
The light in Gu Tunan's gentle, deep eyes slowly brightened.
Like a bird returning to its nest, like stars falling from the sky.
Yet after the college entrance exams, Gu Tunan, who had unexpectedly scored high enough to get into a top-tier university, suddenly lost all contact with the girl who had patiently explained problems to him, accompanied him to training, and thoughtfully comforted and encouraged him.
