A Love That Lasts

Song Hui never thought of herself as lucky. Her mother had never loved her. Then, just before the college entrance exams, her family was struck by disaster. Her birth father passed away, and her relatives left. At last, she was all alone. Then, while working part-time delivering takeout, she accidentally opened the door and found a man who had passed out from carbon monoxide poisoning collapsed against her. At last, the gears of fate began turning again. By chance, she saved a hero, who turned out to be her best friend's cousin. Her matchmaking-obsessed best friend was thrilled. My cousin is a renowned top lawyer! The most handsome visiting professor in the history of Cheng University! A wealthy, eligible bachelor! It's fate! Aren't you tempted?! Song Hui wasn't tempted. Her best friend was furious. My cousin is handsome and gorgeous! He's worth over a hundred million! The female students who have crushes on him could circle Cheng University three times. If you don't like him, you don't like me! Song Hui gave in. She asked her friend for advice. "How do I pursue him?" "Get to know him! Care about him! Show up in front of him every chance you get!" Song Hui took her advice to heart. But after sitting in on a few classes and helping out with a couple of little things, she realized she might actually be falling for Zhou Heng. At last, Zhou Heng could take no more and pulled her into his arms. Zhou Heng: "I heard you want to pursue me?" Song Hui: "So what?" Zhou Heng: "Stop pursuing me. It's exhausting to watch. Let me pursue you instead." For thirty years, I've been waiting for my reeds beyond the tower, my moon tonight. But suddenly, I don't want to wait any longer. So, would you be willing to grow into my garden and shine on my wilderness? *The male lead is eight years older than the female lead. *Not a workplace drama, and not a teacher-student romance. The final line of the blurb is adapted from: "I'll give you two chances to skip class. Something must be more important than a lesson, perhaps the reeds beyond the tower, perhaps tonight's moon."
