Is a Secret Identity Really Such a Big Deal?

[Apologies. After not writing for so long, I’ve lost my touch. While writing, I realized the characterization and pacing were off, so I’m pausing updates to revise the story.] [I’ve withdrawn my application for the rankings. I’m very sorry (prostrating.jpg)] As her secret identities evolve, the Host can evolve along with them. The System thinks the Host will stir up trouble and change the world. But the Host says she’s a low-key person. On the first day, she creates a secret identity just to study a foreign language. On the second day, she writes an essay as her secret identity and earns a recommendation for graduate school. On the third day, she happily tells it, “I made enough money using my secret identity to buy a house, and I saved you a sunny room!” The System lights a weathered cigarette: What a wonderful Host. Hardworking and diligent, just not low-key in the slightest. After binding herself to the Secret Identity System, Qin Xi doesn’t have any grand ambitions. She just wants to make a little money. When she sees a wanted poster for a fraudster, she realizes that using a secret identity is basically a kind of con... Then inspiration strikes, and her horizons expand: “If bandits can do it, so can I!” But she accidentally expands her horizons a little too far... She is a goddess who descends with the moon in her hands, a ruler wandering the frozen wastes. She is revered as the “Goddess of Naluoxi,” the “Undying One,” the “Lord of Sleep,” and “King Mikael”... But what does any of that have to do with her real self? Qin Xi: Quietly making money is a wonderful way to live. A simple, peaceful life is the best.jpg Notes: 1. “If bandits can do it, so can I!” uses the phrase’s surface meaning here, turning a complimentary statement into an insult. 2. Secret identities can be genderless, female, or male. 3. A purely fictional modern setting, with three continents and eleven regions. Superpowers exist, and the languages, cultures, and geography have no connection to the real world. These are original creations, so please don’t compare them to anything real.
