Body Double Story

(First draft of the blurb, pending polishing)

Fang Zhuo made his first appearance in Ji Yao's circle.

Everyone fell silent.

It was no wonder: apart from a red mole at the corner of his eye, Fang Zhuo looked so much like Ji Yao's unattainable first love.

They looked at Fang Zhuo with suspicion, disdain, and disgust.

Fortunately, Ji Yao didn't care about this stand-in.

When asked what he thought of Fang Zhuo,

Ji Yao scoffed. "He's just here to pass the time."

Two years later,

they watched Fang Zhuo, who looked like a perfect dreamboat, obey Ji Yao in every way, always show up when called, and devote himself to him wholeheartedly.

The people in their circle were half envious and half joking when they said, "Brother Ji, it wasn't right of you to treat him as a stand-in. You'd better treat him well from now on."

Even Old Master Ji, who had once opposed their relationship, agreed: "If you like him, bring him home."

As for Ji Yao, though he put on an air of arrogance, his eyes stayed fixed on Fang Zhuo, full of anticipation.

He asked, "When are we getting married?"

Fang Zhuo: "..."

Sorry to interrupt, but it's time to leave.

Fang Zhuo has a disease, literally.

People with this condition will do anything for their target, obeying them in every way, but they're stingy with their affection.

Ji Yao thought Fang Zhuo loved him so much he couldn't help himself, but he didn't know that

Fang Zhuo looked at him the way one admires a flower or a piece of jade: he was willing to appreciate and cherish him, but had no desire to possess him.

Before Ji Yao, there had been many others like him.

After him,

Fang Zhuo lowered his eyes. "Time for the next one."
