The Enchantress

For a woman, doing something can be simple.

If you want to, you can do it with hardly any effort.

Why do you insist on working so hard? Gu Ying asked her.

A Tui smiled. "Because I'm a woman. There are some things women simply have to work harder than men to do."

A Tui had thirteen knife scars on her body, three of them on her face. And yet, in the martial world, her legend endured.

She killed on rainy nights, slipped into the imperial palace, and seized the Thunderfire Order. She showed only her eyes, yet people throughout the world said those eyes could kill a man.

Her mother once told her, "Your face is more precious than the world's most valuable treasure, and more captivating than the most cunning lie."

When her mother fell from a cliff, A Tui carved the first scar into her own face.

Mother, what if all I want is to survive and do what I want?

What do you want? Countless riches and honors? An unending tangle of love and hate? Or supreme power?

A Tui raised her bow. "I want to live. I want to live happily, with joy in my heart."

When she finished, she shot through the lock of the cage, and a free bird soared into the sky!

In life, if you don't move forward, you fall behind.
