To the Ends of Heaven and Hell

That late autumn, the red maples blazed like fire. A poem that Young Master Cui had boldly inscribed on the wall of Hanshi Temple not only won him a reputation for literary talent, but also deeply moved Han Lingyi. Suitors flocked to the Cui residence, and Han Lingyi welcomed the man she loved with a grand wedding.

Unfortunately, Han Lingyi wanted a husband who would stay at home, be virtuous, and tend to the household. Cui Yunshen was proud and aloof. He could never meekly yield to her in all things or accept her as his sole focus, and he could not bear her taking three husbands and four lovers, then changing her affections at a whim.

When Han Lingyi brought a second man into the household, Cui Yunshen withdrew to Yunshen Residence and severed all ties with her.

They had been married for eleven years, but had not seen each other for ten of them.

Time flowed like water, and the years passed by. Only at the moment of death did they understand that, even after ten years apart, each had still kept a place for the other in their heart.

If they could live their lives over, what would they choose? They transmigrated through time, body and soul together, to the Great Mu Dynasty, a hundred years after the era they had lived in before, to rekindle their love.

Theme: Reunited after a breakup.
