I promise to keep the quality up and finish the story.] Unlucky beauty, laid-back ghost controller bottom × Transmigrated modern-day hunk with outstanding combat skills, an unpredictable temper, and even more unpredictable patience top Ghost controller × special forces soldier Beautiful, strong, and tragic × savior A magnet for admirers × insanely jealous lover Gu Jin'an (bottom) × Xue Jian (top) One-on-one, happy ending, equally matched, mutually doting [Conspiracy theories everywhere] [Chinese-style Lovecraftian horror] [Chinese-style horror] A materialist special forces soldier transmigrates to ancient times and meets a ghost controller. The ghost controller is beautiful but unlucky, with romance always finding him. A strange and fascinating clash between modern materialism and ancient fantasy. "You're my fated star of romance, sent down from heaven." %**************The Serious Blurb**************% The world is in chaos, and ghosts run rampant. Resentment becomes ghosts, roaming across the land. Evil ghosts devour one another, and ferocious ghosts tear each other apart. Vengeful ghosts consume people's souls and bewitch their minds. Malevolent ghosts eat human flesh and drink human blood. Curses, witchcraft, rumors, ghost stories, spirits... Every love, hatred, anger, and obsession is a sharp sword. "The deeper a ghost controller becomes involved in human affairs, and the more complicated the world they experience, the stronger they become. Only by hardening their heart can they avoid being moved by 'obsession.'" Alas, the profession of ghost controller has declined from its former glory. It all began with the Gu family of the capital... * "Why do you have the memories of two people?" Xue Jian looked at Gu Jin'an. "I... don't know..." %**************The Very Serious Blurb**************% When Gu Jin'an was a child, a fortune-teller told him he was blessed with a prosperous marriage and great fortune. But somehow, he ended up plagued by misfortune, so unlucky that even the God of Bad Luck would call him a jinx. He was born into a family of ghost controllers, and it's a miracle he's survived this long. After years without a single happy moment, Gu Jin'an had learned to laugh off his bad luck. But outsiders couldn't understand: how could such a warm, gentle beauty be so unlucky? * Then one day, he had the misfortune of finding a half-dead, outrageously handsome man with an incredible physique. (He learned that word from Xue Jian.) The handsome man seemed to have something wrong with his head. As soon as he woke up, he started talking about acting and transmigrating... Gu Jin'an was baffled. But the handsome man was astonishingly strong! When he got serious, he could even beat up ghosts! Gu Jin'an: Oh! It was one thing to beat up ghosts, but what was all this about materialism and science? Gu Jin'an was baffled all over again. He wanted to ask a few questions, but when Xue Jian picked him up with one arm, he couldn't get a word out. * Xue Jian was speechless. He'd nearly died on a mission, so how had he transmigrated as soon as he woke up? Fine, he'd transmigrated, but where the hell had all these ghosts come from? When Xue Jian tried to explain these phenomena with electromagnetic waves and electromagnetic fields... Gu Jin'an: ? All right... As a materialist from the twenty-first century, he had just discovered that all of this was real. Xue Jian: ... Worldview being reconstructed... Xue Jian wasn't a good-tempered man. His current situation left him extremely irritable, and he'd realized that the beauty who'd saved him was terribly unlucky and somehow kept getting mixed up with ghosts... His nine lives wouldn't be enough to protect him. But what could he do? He'd hit the jackpot of bad luck by running into someone who could make him lose his footing! After fuming for a while, all he could do was laugh helplessly. * Why was this unlucky man such a magnet for admirers? Xue Jian couldn't figure it out. Apparently, he wasn't the only one who was blind. Regardless, Xue Jian was irritable and outrageously strong. Whether you were a man or a woman, human or ghost, if you only had one life to live, you were better off staying away from Gu Jin'an. His many admirers were instantly scared away by the tall, handsome man glaring at them. * Gu Jin'an seemed to take his lifelong run of bad luck in stride, but he often wondered what this "great fortune" was supposed to be. Was it surviving the massacre of his family, only to eke out a lonely existence until now? He felt that he hadn't become open-minded. He'd just grown numb and stopped caring. Until Xue Jian appeared... In a life where each moment passed without knowing what the next would bring, Gu Jin'an had never experienced such an unshakable sense of security. "So the stars of romance really weren't lying." [Special Notes] 1. The top appears in Chapter Four. 2. Military-themed stories are prohibited on Jinjiang, so even in his memories, Xue Jian's specific military life will not be described. 3. This is an alternate history, with no strict historical accuracy and no connection to real history. It has an entirely new worldbuilding system for ghost controllers. If you wonder why something is the way it is, just think, "Because that's how the author set it up," and you'll understand. 4. The top's point of view will be described in a modern style, while the bottom's point of view will be described in an ancient style. What that means will follow the setting. 5. Weakest to strongest: Wandering Spirit, Evil Ghost, Ferocious Ghost, Vengeful Ghost, Malevolent Ghost. 6. ... Weibo: @RuLeiGuanEr- Blurb screenshotted on March 22, 2021.
