Excerpt One:
I woke up with amnesia. I was holding a knife, and on the floor beside me lay a female corpse with her face slashed beyond recognition.
The phone lying on the floor rang. I had no idea what was going on, so I didn't answer, but the caller texted to say they would be at the phone owner's home in two hours.
I could only hide the body and quickly clean up the traces.
When I passed a mirror and saw my face, I remembered that my name was Tomie.
This really was my home, and the phone was mine too. The person who had just called was probably my curly-haired police officer boyfriend.
The doorbell rang, but the person outside wasn't the curly-haired one. He was blond.
A little more of my memory came back. He was also my boyfriend.
I seemed to be a cheating woman with two-timing ways, but right now, the more important thing was to make sure he didn't discover the body in the house.
Excerpt Two:
Today, my curly-haired boyfriend invited me to meet his friends, and I agreed.
But when I saw their silhouettes in the distance, I realized they were all my police officer boyfriends, and I panicked.
As everyone knows, love-related murders make up a disproportionately high share of the murder cases in Beika.
They're police officers. They must be great at getting rid of evidence, right?
