The God's Kiss

Ianna is about to get engaged to a prince from a neighboring kingdom, but she's deeply uneasy. She has a secret: whenever night falls, she turns into an old woman. She kneels in the temple and begs the gods for help. The god hears her plea and finds it amusing. She was the one who cast this curse, so why would she help? A beautiful princess, loved by all. How enviable. The god had only casually cast the curse after hearing the request of another envious person. "Only a kiss of true love can break this curse," she tells Ianna. The god doesn't believe in true love, so the curse is impossible to break. But Ianna believes her, and even thanks her. How ridiculous. The god watches as Ianna kisses her, and the curse actually vanishes. The smile disappears from her lips... Damn it, she turns and runs.
