Xiaoxiang and Qin

Life’s roads run north and south, branching many ways.

Generals and ministers, even immortals,

Must all be made by mortal hands.

Dynasties rise and fall, morning and night;

The river wind blows down the trees of the old dynasty.

Fame and fortune offer no guarantees.

We exhaust our hearts and minds,

And end up wasting our fleeting years.

Three cups of muddy wine, and we sink into drunkenness.

The flowing water and fallen flowers, who knows where they go?

Wu Jingzi

I’ll dig a hole first. I’ll fill it in sometime within my lifetime.
