The Loyal Butler

As the Xia family's butler, Gu Yilin has a few key responsibilities:

1. Take care of the young master's daily needs.

2. Stay by the young master's side at all times and protect his safety.

3. Understand the young master's innermost thoughts.

The first thing Xia Yu sees every morning is Gu Yilin hovering beside him. He scowls in displeasure. "Could you stop showing up in my room? You're so annoying!"

"Taking care of your daily needs is my job," Gu Yilin replies, expressionless.

When Xia Yu goes to the bathroom, Gu Yilin follows and stands guard behind him.

"Gu Yilin, are you crazy? Why are you following me to the bathroom?" Xia Yu snaps.

"It's my responsibility to stay by your side at all times," Gu Yilin says, stone-faced.

Xia Yu receives the first love letter of his life and excitedly opens it. When he turns around, Gu Yilin has appeared like a ghost and is staring intently at the letter.

"Who said you could read it?" Xia Yu kicks him.

Gu Yilin brushes the dust off his pants, calm as ever. "It's my duty to understand your innermost thoughts."

Xia Yu grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth and was everyone's darling. Then an accident left the Xia family bankrupt, and everyone abandoned him. The only one willing to stay by his side was Gu Yilin.

"Gu Yilin, you should leave too."

Gu Yilin says, still stone-faced, "I'm not leaving. You'd have to kill me first."

"Are you crazy? What could you possibly get by staying with me? Get out of here!" Xia Yu yells, his eyes red.

Gu Yilin presses his lips together. "I want you. Will you give yourself to me?"

Xia Yu freezes, then blushes. "Gu Yilin, y-you, you, you can go die!"
