[Football] Retired, and Refusing to Take the Fall

Some people die, but they are still alive. Noah is still alive, but as far as football is concerned, he's dead. The media lament: "England without Noah is like King Arthur without Excalibur." The legends of the game sigh: "Noah was to Sir Alex Ferguson what George Best was to Sir Matt Busby, and what Paul Gascoigne was to Sir Bobby Robson." And the fans? They're busy holding online funerals, weeping every day over GIFs of him collapsing on the pitch, mourning the loss of a fleeting genius and wailing over the fall of a superstar. Noah watches coldly from the sidelines, certain none of it has anything to do with him. After all, he's alive and well. He just needs time to adjust to life after retirement. But when his adoptive father tosses a job contract in front of him, he wishes he were dead instead. Managing the England national team? What kind of person would do a job like that? * They say Europe has four great hardships: The British heir to the throne, Roma's vice-captain, Buffon's backup, and Liverpool FC. Noah's fans won't stand for it! "He's filled in as goalkeeper for Great Britain, coached the Three Lions, made the Bernabeu's collection of football greats, and still can't say no to a red team. Who can claim to have suffered more than him?" ** P.S. This is a story about a retired football star starting a new career. P.S. 2: Stay away from red teams and racing teams to avoid some fatigue and heartbreak. Theme: Success through perseverance, forged in the crucible of hardship
