The Forensic Madam's Busy Daily Life

Forensic examiner Shen Fuqiu transmigrated into the daughter of an official corpse examiner. Unlike modern forensic examiners, she knew that corpse examiners in this era had neither an official position nor money. Their main job was collecting bodies, and their side job was examining them. Because they dealt with the dead all year and earned their living from corpses, corpse examiners were considered unlucky, unclean, and lowly by others. Shen Fuqiu's heart sank. She thought life after transmigrating would probably be difficult. Who could have guessed that even ordinary people could have extraordinary talents? The Shen family was a famous corpse-examining family in Chang'an City. Her grandfather and father had worked for the Court of Judicial Review for years, while her uncle ran a funeral goods shop in the Western Market. Even a job considered unlucky and lowly could hide enormous profits. The miserable life Shen Fuqiu had expected never came to pass. Instead, she lived comfortably, with plenty to eat and wear, raising cats and playing with dogs in peaceful leisure. At three, Shen Fuqiu watched her family make all kinds of funeral goods with curiosity. At eight, she sang funeral songs alongside her siblings, competing to see who sang best and earning pocket money by attending various funeral processions. At twelve, Shen Fuqiu was busy competing with the Western Market funeral shop over the quality of their funeral goods and expanding her share of the market. Then, when she was fifteen, her grandfather died unexpectedly, leaving the position of corpse examiner vacant. Her father wanted to find a child in the family to take over. Shen Fuqiu raised her hand among the children. "Father, I want to give it a try!" And so, the corpse examiner who would one day become famous throughout Chang'an made her debut. Reader's Guide: 1.
