[Blurb]
Twenty-seven-year-old He Yin meets seventeen-year-old Yu Chuci.
At first, when a friend at the police station asks him to look after the victim's family member, he bites down on a cigarette and answers lazily, "Sure. As long as the girl doesn't cause me any trouble."
Later, Yu Chuci moves in across the hall from him. She barely says a word and doesn't react to all the care he showers on her. She treats him like he's not even there.
He Yin turns and walks out, pulls out his phone, and calls his friend.
"Bro, I need to ask you something, and I'm not kidding. Does this victim's family member you sent over have some kind of psychological disorder she's keeping secret?"
The next day, there's a sticky note on his door with four big words written on it: You're the one who's sick.
He Yin laughs in exasperation.
So it wasn't a psychological disorder. Someone had just spoiled her rotten and given her a nasty temper.
Later, when Yu Chuci comes up, He Yin refuses the cigarette his friend offers him, saying he's quit. "That girl's got a temper. She's hard to win over. If I can't make it up to her in three days, she'll be off somewhere across the country."
His friend says, "Bro, here's a tip: start buying her flowers and handbags."
He Yin sighs wistfully. "I tried. She called it tacky."
Can't figure out what young people like these days. That girl is so hard to win over. When will she finally say she likes me?
