I Sat Up in My Coffin, and All the Demons Had to Kneel

Duan Anluo, founder of the Xuan Sect, was an unparalleled genius unseen in the mystical arts for a thousand years. He became famous across the land at sixteen, then suddenly vanished at twenty-three, his fate unknown. Five hundred years later, supernatural phenomena returned across the world, with strange events happening everywhere. Duan Anluo awoke in a forbidden zone. The sect had fallen into decline, and its old mountain headquarters had long since become ruins. Even the plaque bestowed by the emperor had been sent to a museum and labeled an antique. The Xuan Sect's only property was a run-down folk-custom shop: outside the Fifth Ring Road, with a floor area of just one hundred square meters. Its windows were covered in paper, its walls peeling badly, and local legends had earned it a reputation as a haunted house. The current head of the Xuan Sect had less spiritual power than the monkey he kept as a pet. His talent was so poor he could not even be trusted to lead a horse, and he had scored just 28 out of 120 on a math test. Yet he had the nerve to hang the test on the wall and shamelessly beg his ancestors for their blessing. Worst of all were the memories the original owner had left behind. In those memories, the original owner had inherited the most evil bloodline of ancient times. He had repeatedly fought against his fate, only to be pushed along by an invisible hand, making one disastrous choice after another. In the end, the Child of Heaven's Will would rip out his soul and seal it in an Eight Trigrams Furnace, leaving him unable to live or die. Duan Anluo: No problem. Since the Way of Heaven let me be reborn, that proves my existence is the will of Heaven! The first thing he did after crawling out of his coffin was find the Child of Heaven's Will, who was five years younger than him, and slap him awake. "Hey, you little punk, I'm your dad. Say 'Daddy.'" Next, he hung all hundred-plus of his grand-disciples on the wall. The tables had turned, and now he could make wishes to them. If a wish didn't come true, it must mean he'd buried them in a place with bad feng shui, so he'd dig them up and bury them somewhere else. He would also take on ten disciples to be the young sect leader's great-grandfather, reopen the sect, and make the Xuan Sect flourish! Duan Anluo: I sit up in my coffin, and every demon and monster has to kneel! Notice board: This is all fictional! Fictional! Fictional! It has nothing to do with our world! I don't understand mysticism either, so I'm just making it up. We should believe in science! Please check out the upcoming stories in my author profile! Theme: Live with a positive attitude!
