My Crown Princess Is a Little Stout

Everyone knew Emperor Yun played favorites.

He looked down on his seven or eight sons, all accomplished in both letters and arms, and chose the frail, uneducated Ninth Prince as his heir instead.

He even arranged for him to marry the neighboring kingdom's most beautiful woman, Princess Wushuang.

Jiang Rong looked up at the Crown Princess, who was a head taller than him, and asked nervously, "Are all the women of the Yue Kingdom as tall and sturdy as my beloved consort?" His little hand gently patted her shoulder in an ingratiating manner. "Today's ceremony must have tired you, my beloved consort. I won't disturb your rest. I'll sleep in the side hall tonight."

Li Xuan glanced at the petite Crown Prince, then let his gaze fall on those little fists. His heart softened a little, and he put away the poison he'd prepared in his sleeve.

Emperor Yun had a headache. He had more than ten sons, but only one daughter. He was afraid she'd be mistreated if he married her off, so he steeled himself and raised her as a son, then joined his sons in pushing Jiang Rong into the position of heir.

But they still needed a Crown Princess.

Luckily, their old friend in the neighboring Yue Kingdom came to the rescue by sending over a princess disguised as a woman.

The Yue emperor didn't tell his old friend that this son of his had been brilliant from a young age, as well as wildly ambitious, always wanting to unite the Nine Provinces. But wouldn't the world be better off at peace? So to nip his son's ambition in the bud, he'd raised him as a daughter since childhood.
