The Little Bunny Is Back

Lu Qingzhuo of Yunfeng Pavilion was cold-faced and even colder-hearted, a ruthless patriarch who killed demons without batting an eye. One day, he returned from an outing with a baby rabbit he'd picked up somewhere. It had bright, watery eyes and fluffy fur, and everyone adored it. It became Yunmeng Mountain's number one mascot, and he even took it on as his disciple. Later, his little disciple went missing. After raising the soft, cuddly little thing for three hundred years, he couldn't just accept that it was gone. Lu Qingzhuo couldn't either. The incident drove him completely mad for a time. Later, the entire cultivation world knew that the beloved little disciple of the Ruthless Patriarch had been missing for a hundred years, and still hadn't been found. … Yuan Zirun grew up in the Myriad Demons Stronghold, doted on by demons big and small. He was innocent, bright, soft, and adorable. One day, surrounded by countless demons, he was asked by a thousand-year-old tree demon, "Xiao Run, do you know how you came to the Myriad Demons Stronghold?" Yuan Zirun flicked his two ears and answered crisply, "...Someone abandoned me. Luckily, Uncle Fox Demon found me. Otherwise, I would have had to sleep rough, and if I hadn't starved to death, I would have frozen to death." The demon elders had told him all about it. He'd heard the story countless times since he was little, so his answer came smoothly. Unrestrained applause rang out all around him: clap, clap, clap, clap, clap. The demons chattered excitedly, praising Yuan Zirun for being clever and answering so well. The tree demon raised a branch, and the surroundings fell silent at once. "Do you know who abandoned you?" Yuan Zirun puffed out his cheeks, looking a little angry. "Lu Qingzhuo of Yunfeng Pavilion." An old, mottled branch reached out and gently stroked the top of Yuan Zirun's head. "You're four hundred years old now, an adult. It's time you did what adults should do. We demons believe in paying back a debt and settling a grudge. We live freely and do as we please. So, since he cruelly abandoned you, shouldn't you get revenge?" the tree demon asked gravely. Yuan Zirun put on a serious face, his bright eyes shining. "Of course I should." "Then what will you do?" Yuan Zirun clenched his tender little rabbit paw into a fist. "I'll become his disciple, pretend to respect and love him, and then... abandon him in the cruelest way!" Theme: Keep your heart turned toward the light. Never give up, and never abandon anyone.
