What I Fear Most

People described Feng Chun in eight words: bolder than a man, colder than ice. There seemed to be nothing he was afraid of. When he watched horror movies as a kid, his friends screamed while he remained expressionless. Then he met Yu Xia, and found something he was truly afraid of. Yu Xia leaned against the doorframe and asked, "What are you most afraid of?" Feng Chun tapped off his cigarette ash. Half-lidded eyes behind a cloud of smoke, he said, "I'm most afraid of you saying, 'Let's wash up and go to bed.'" "What's the thing you remember most?" Feng Chun chuckled softly. "The terror of being at your mercy for three days in a little hotel when I was twenty." Yu Xia tugged at his collar. "Then it's your turn to have me at your mercy."
