Ning Han has always treated love as a game, changing partners one after another without ever repeating herself.
One day, when she comes home, she finds a discarded cardboard box by the door. From inside comes a faint, soft whimper, feeble and weak.
Curious, she opens it and finds a kitten on the verge of death.
Whoever left it here must have had no conscience at all.
She thinks for a couple of seconds, then carries the box inside and gets someone to bring over two bags of cat food. She decides to keep it.

2. Ning Han is kissing her new girlfriend at the door, their passion all-consuming, when the door suddenly opens. A woman with luminous, pale skin, wrapped in a pure white bath towel, gazes at the two of them with tears in her eyes, startling Ning Han.
What the hell! Who is this supposed to be?
Seeing that Ning Han has been keeping a woman hidden away, her girlfriend shoves her aside and shouts, "You jerk! We're over!" Then she turns and leaves without looking back.
Ning Han has no intention of chasing after her. She only wanted a one-night stand anyway.
She looks at the woman in front of her, her surprise fading as she raises an eyebrow.
The woman lets out a soft whimper. "Don't you want me anymore?"
"When did I ever want you?" Ning Han shoots back. She brushes past her, enters the house, and calls, "Xiao Ka."
The cat is gone.
Ning Han immediately frowns. "Where's my cat?"
The woman doesn't answer.
Ning Han snorts and walks up to her, gazing at her pale neck. She hooks a finger beneath the woman's chin and bares her own fangs. "So bold. Aren't you afraid I'll eat you?"
"No," she replies. "You've kept me all this time, and you still couldn't bring yourself to eat me."
