A Strange Case of Judge Shi: Short Stories of Kang and Huang

This series was my first attempt at writing about the couple Kang and Huang. It began with Xiaoyaojing's 2008 Lunar New Year writing contest. I was really into Kang and Huang at the time, and the keywords "snow falling silently" and "knowing one's fate" suddenly sparked an idea. I couldn't resist writing the first of several very short stories, A Sigh of Regret. The setting takes place after the last arc in the original series to feature Huang Tianba, "The Princess Seeks a Husband." Somehow, the short stories grew into a series of three... The more I got into the pairing, the more I couldn't resist writing a hundred questions. When my enthusiasm finally burst out, I began the long story If Heaven Has Feelings, which focuses on the original series' plot. Even though it ended up abandoned, I wrote over 400,000 characters for Kang and Huang... (Yes, the short stories and the long story If Heaven Has Feelings are both about Kang and Huang, but they are completely unrelated. Think of them as the same setup in separate storylines, with completely different endings for the couple.)

The short-story series is also unfinished for now, but it's the one most likely to be completed. By current Jinjiang standards, the first chapter of Short Stories, Part Three has already been locked. The second probably won't be, but I'm not sure about the third... I won't revise my work just because it gets locked. If it gets locked, so be it. I'll leave it as it is and give a brief recap in the unlocked chapters below. That's how I do things, and I hope you'll understand.
