The Puppet Empress Strikes Back

After Song Yizhi drowned, she opened her eyes to find someone gripping her by the throat, then flinging her to the ground.

The person looked down at her and said, "I advise Your Majesty to behave and keep to herself. Don't meddle in things that aren't your concern."

As a puppet child-empress controlled by a powerful eunuch, the original owner of this body had died trying to seize power.

Song Yizhi was completely baffled. What had the original owner been thinking? Weren't eating, drinking, fooling around, gambling, and smoking fun enough?

Ever since he grabbed the little emperor by the throat that day, Ning Xun watched her sneak out of the palace in disguise to have fun, tease the young master of the prime minister's family, defend him against vicious attacks from officials at court, shield him from drinks at the state banquet, and say startling things despite never involving herself in political affairs...

In the end, as Ning Xun fell helplessly in love with the little emperor, he realized that power had gradually returned to her hands.

"Now I've fallen in love with you, just as you wanted, and the power is back in your hands! So I have no use to you anymore, do I?"

His voice was hoarse with despair, his emotions spiraling out of control.
