[Showbiz] The Idol I Followed Has Flopped Again

Lin Ning'an, a veteran fan who rarely posted updates, made an unusual post on her feed: My bias has fallen off the pedestal again. Smiling.jpg

The picture was today's latest trending news, about a certain idol.

Friends who caught wind of it rushed over and took turns mocking her.

Friend 1: Every time you stan someone, they flop. You should set up a stall. You'll make a killing for sure.

Friend 2: Anyone you take a liking to must have had the worst luck in their past life.

Friend 3: Sister An, listen to me. Leave the entertainment industry already and let it have some peace and joy. All the celebrities have been trembling lately.

Friend 4: If you go after my idol, I'll take you down with me.

Lin Ning'an expressionlessly turned off her phone.

Later, her friends discovered she'd posted another update. It read with stirring conviction: Better to believe in yourself than in idols. I'm my own biggest fan! There's no way I'll flop. I'm heading out to conquer the world. Do not disturb!

On the first day of 2020, K-pop fans didn't get the annual Dispatch exposé. Instead, their feeds were flooded with one person: Lin Ning'an, a hugely popular female soloist who had shot to fame on Produce 101 and then weathered the turmoil of her group's disbandment. She curled her lips, half-lidded fox eyes framed by long, fine eyeliner, and smiled lazily as she offered the camera her New Year's wishes without the slightest hesitation.

"I hope you all have a great time dating this year too, or I'll steal your boyfriends!"

She delivered that shamelessly flirtatious line as if it were the most natural thing in the world, making everyone's ears burn.

That very day, the hashtag #What'sSoGreatAboutMyUselessBoyfriendThatSheWantsToStealHim# began trending.

A few notes:

1. The main focus is her career. There may be a romance plotline.

2. The female lead is inexperienced at first.

3. The author's writing is terrible and may be out of character.

4. This synopsis was written on March 6, 2020.
