[D.Gray-man] An Exorcist's Life Begins with the Black Order

Di Xia transmigrated into a world crawling with demons, becoming an exorcist who shared a first name but not a surname with the original character. In the manga, he wouldn't survive past one chapter; in the anime, he wouldn't make it past three episodes. He was nothing but cannon fodder. To avoid getting killed off too soon, he had no choice but to make himself more noticeable to the main cast, hoping to catch a little of their plot armor. But... as he kept trying to stand out, just when Di Xia thought he probably couldn't escape his destined death, his original Innocence evolved into a crystal type. He then gained the power of a second Innocence, leading the bigwigs above to mistake him for the most likely candidate to possess the Heart of Innocence. As a result, he was nominated to compete against his junior fellow disciple for the position of General. Even the Millennium Earl and his followers put him on their kill list... Di Xia really didn't get it. He only wanted to upgrade from cannon fodder to a background character and make it safely to the ending. Why did he keep getting more and more screen time, until he became the protagonist's human shield and smokescreen? Sadly... Di Xia himself knew that at heart he was nothing but cannon fodder, but no one else knew that! What could he do? All he could do was despair at this tragedy-filled world...
