Long Night

1. Xiao Susu, who has just graduated from Yanjing University, passes the test set by Shen Songling and Ou Fanxi. The following month, she is due to start working as a tutor for Shen Jingya, Shen Songling's eighth daughter, and has already received her salary from the Shen family.

However, her father, Xiao Jingxing, is badly burned in a forced demolition of a hutong ordered by Shen Songling's eldest legitimate son, Shen Jingting. Of course, he is only one of the victims. The next day, families affected by the demolition stage a desperate protest at the headquarters of Shen's Yellow River Construction, but Xiao Susu can't attend because she's borrowing money to save her father. By the time she manages to borrow money from Xiao Qishan, her father, Xiao Jingxing, has already died of his injuries. Because she didn't take part in the protest, the victims' families force Xiao Susu and her sister out of the capital's relief shelter. With nowhere else to turn, she takes her younger sister and accepts Xiao Qishan as her father.

By chance, Xiao Susu marries Shen Jinyan, Shen Songling's second son, giving her a glimmer of hope in her otherwise hopeless path of revenge.

2. A little scene:

Just before bed, Shen Jinyan returns after leaving. Xiao Susu fearfully backs away. The man sighs and cups her face with his long, elegant fingers. His warm lips try to meet hers, but she firmly blocks them with her hand.

Feeling the coolness of her palm, the man gazes deeply into her misty eyes. He doesn't pull away, instead deepening the kiss against her palm.

3. The male lead and the heroine's adoptive father are old friends, despite the small age gap between the male lead and heroine!
