Dear Professor Gu

Gu Yanzhi from the School of Economics and Management is 24, a postdoctoral graduate from overseas, and the youngest associate professor at all of Q University.

He is handsome and refined, proud and self-possessed, and always wears gold-rimmed glasses. His shirt is buttoned right up to the top.

His scholarly, abstinent air has made him a sensation at Q University, and his classes are the hardest to get into on campus.

But it all began to quietly crumble the moment a girl with two little canine teeth and a ponytail crashed into his arms.

"I don't drink."

"Getting up at six thirty in the morning is a habit."

"Girls should be more demure. What kind of behavior is this?"

Later, when Gu Yanzhi was often a little tipsy, he would undo the button at his collar, then pat the back of the girl who was nestled in his arms, biting his Adam's apple with her little canines. His low, husky voice held a hint of coaxing, helpless and indulgent:

"Be good. Don't act up."

And the habit of getting up at six thirty every morning, which he'd kept for over a decade, was often broken after she came to share his pillow.

You are my warm gloves, cold beer, sun-scented shirt, and dream that comes day after day.
