As a homebody in the 21st century, Xiao Mo was a laid-back gamer who liked nothing more than holing up in a remote mountain hollow and idly grinding monsters to level up, one slash at a time. She was content to take life as it came. Then, in a twist of fate, she transmigrated and became an orphan girl in a good-for-nothing-to-heroine story. To top it off, she got a System that spent all day urging her to follow the plot.
Following the plot = getting close to the protagonist = trouble.
Xiao Mo hated trouble. All she wanted was to live her own quiet little life and stay away from the protagonists, who were trouble incarnate.
But when she saw a girl suffering terribly because a Heavenly Flame was burning through her meridians, Xiao Mo couldn't help feeling sorry for her. So she drew closer, and gradually fell in.

A word of caution: The author isn't particularly fond of Xiao Yan, so I couldn't get through the original novel. I've only read fanfiction based on Battle Through the Heavens, so even if I do start this story, I may never finish it, or it may not turn out the way you expect.
