The Legendary Seventh Junior Uncle

Xun Qing's Seventh Martial Uncle is said to have been an unmatched young man, extraordinarily handsome and deeply accomplished in cultivation. He entered Qianbi at fifteen, wielded an immortal sword to slay demons, and made a name for himself across the land. Sadly, talent invites Heaven's envy, and he sacrificed himself for all living beings at just twenty.

Of course, most of these rumors can't be trusted.

They say Seventh Martial Uncle was so devoted to a demoness that, when she rejected him, he betrayed the righteous path. So why does he keep backing away now that this demoness is pursuing him?

They say Seventh Martial Uncle was a gentleman, proper in both word and deed. So what's with this jealous streak, and his urge to drive every man away from her?

Most importantly, the Seventh Martial Uncle in the rumors has been dead for over a decade. So who is this person who's been lurking around her ever since she was born?

Xun Qing was deeply puzzled. "Seventh Martial Uncle, are you really my Seventh Martial Uncle?"

The man smiled faintly. "Yes. The genuine article."

"Then are you a ghost?"

He leaned closer and brought his face toward her. "Touch me and see."

Xun Qing reached out and poked him. "You're warm. You must be alive, right?"

"Be confident. Drop the 'must be.'"

"You're alive?"

"If you don't believe me, you can touch me again." He took Xun Qing's hands and pressed them against his face. "Not only is it warm, it's a little thick, too."

Xun Qing pinched him. "That's true. Seventh Martial Uncle's skin is exceptionally thick."
