My Divine One

[Content warning: Open ending, not a happy ending, angst. Read with caution.]

[Note: The idea for the synopsis, where Santa accidentally sends a letter to Satan, came from Reddit's WritingPrompts, a freely shared ideas board.]

On Christmas Eve, a shopping mall held a promotion offering free wish cards.

Jiang Yaruo, who had been working overtime until ten, yawned as she wrote hers.

She wanted a cat.

Jiang Yaruo didn't notice that she'd misspelled a word on the card.

The letter meant for Santa Claus had been mistakenly addressed to Satan.

Late that night, Satan came.

Handsome, tall, and cold, dressed all in black, with skin as pale as snow on the back of his hands.

He climbed in through the window and, quietly and carefully, placed a tiny kitten beside Jiang Yaruo's pillow.

Important content warnings:

1. This is a self-indulgent story, written to ease feelings of oppression and depression. The overall tone is healing.

2. It's comparable to a Mobius strip.
