(A Sweet Showbiz Treat)
Ye Xiaoxiao graduated from an acting program two years ago, but he is still just an extra. The tiny company he signed with even charges him for costumes and makeup.
Just when times are tough, his elite ex-boyfriend dumps him again.
The lovesick Xiao Ye cries until he can barely see straight. But life goes on, so he has no choice but to work twice as hard, take roles at his own expense, and pick up odd jobs for the production crew.
This production is full of big names, including the Best Actor Chi Wen.
Ye Xiaoxiao slips and takes a spectacular face-first fall right in front of him, then awkwardly makes his exit.
Chi Wen: "…"
Chi Wen won the Best Actor award at seventeen, but bad luck has kept him from ever winning a second.
He has plenty of fans and just as many haters, and he's known for his terrible temper and overbearing attitude. When the third male lead on set causes one scene after another, Chi Wen loses his temper and yells, "Even some random extra could act better than you!"
Then he casually points into the crowd.
Ye Xiaoxiao is stunned. "…M-me!?"
Did he remember me because I just planted my face in the dirt...?
Ye Xiaoxiao is thrilled inside, but throws himself into the performance. His tearful scene leaves everyone stunned, and the whole crew stares in amazement.
Chi Wen sneers. "...You. You're playing the third male lead."
Best Actor Chi Wen is a stubborn tsundere who expects Ye Xiaoxiao to put him first. He's practically got a full-blown emperor complex.
As luck would have it, Xiao Ye is a pushover who agrees to everything and treats Chi like a princess. Don't ask what he says to himself about it.
This straight man's gestures are often thoughtless, and the tsundere's orders to his little sidekick are utterly shameless. It's as if, even if the sky falls, his tall lighthouse will be there to hold it up.
Riding the wave of good fortune, Ye Xiaoxiao embarks on a long, unrequited love, convinced it will never come to anything.
A few tips
* Both leads have had ex-boyfriends, and those exes have quite a few scenes.
* At first glance, the bottom's feelings seem more intense (though I think the top loves him just as much, but I'm worried some angels might mind, sob).
* The career storyline is generally on the rise, but it has a few dips, with some setbacks in the plot. (Only a tiny bit of trouble.)
* The bottom has suffered fairly severe psychological trauma. If you are uncomfortable with this kind of depiction, please read with caution!
* I really think this is super cute, so please give it a try! If it's not your thing, please go easy on me. This silly author is fragile and could be flattened with one slap. Thank you all for understanding, ahhh!
Coming soon: Breaking Up with My Scum Top After Developing a Mental Illness
(The Scum Top's Long Road to Redemption)
Zhong Siyu is famous in the industry for being a lovesick fool.
He gives everything he has to make Ji Huai a star, but gets nothing for himself. He goes from manager to assistant, and eventually becomes Ji Huai's pathetic little kept lover, looked down on by everyone.
That's what happens when you love someone too much.
Best Actor Ji Huai has no respect for him at all. Right in front of him, he introduces him to others by saying, "Siyu's a useless little thing."
Zhong Siyu even nods obediently and says, "Hello, everyone. I'm a useless little thing."
The astonished, contemptuous looks from others can't shake Zhong Siyu, because deep down, he knows Ji Huai loves him.
Then one day, Zhong Siyu wakes up and sees a progress bar above Ji Huai's head.
It reads: Affection: 30%. Not quite friends.
Zhong Siyu is stunned.
Ji Huai doesn't love him after all!!!
Zhong Siyu packs his things and breaks up with Ji Huai.
Best Actor Ji Huai loses all his dignity and frantically chases him everywhere.
To get a few peaceful days, Zhong Siyu accepts his company's offer to sign him as an artist. Officially, he's still Ji Huai's junior.
The affection bar is incredibly useful. Zhong Siyu leaves home and only then realizes it isn't raining outside.
His agent likes him, the director likes him, the project lead likes him, and even the cleaning lady likes him far more than Ji Huai's pitiful 30%.
No one calls him a useless little thing anymore. No one hits him in bed, either, and no one complains that his cooking tastes awful or that his many allergies are a hassle.
Instead, a crowd of fans rushes to tell him he's cute, dedicated, and a genius.
Ever since I developed a mental illness, I've been feeling so much better!
Zhong Siyu thinks with satisfaction.
He ignores Ji Huai's gaze as the man forces his way onto the set and glares at him as if he wants to tear him limb from limb.
"This is just a hallucination. Or perhaps a concrete expression of a psychological impression," the doctor says.
"No, it's real," Zhong Siyu insists.
The doctor sighs. "People can't read other people's minds. Even if these 'affection levels' are real, they're just what your subconscious has pieced together from the other person's words and actions. Have you been taking your medication on schedule?"
"I have..."
After his routine appointment, Zhong Siyu goes to the rooftop to eat lunch.
He doesn't expect to find Ji Huai waiting there.
Above his head is a progress bar reading 43% affection.
In just two short months, Ji Huai has become so haggard he no longer looks like the spirited Best Actor he once was. His eyes are bloodshot.
"God, what will it take for you to believe that I really love you, instead of listening to some stupid progress bar!? Just stab me, honey. Would that make you feel better...?"
Ji Huai switches between furiously accusing him and humbly lowering himself, nearly to his knees. Zhong Siyu thinks Ji Huai looks more like the one with a mental illness.
Zhong Siyu crouches and strokes Ji Huai's face as he kneels on the ground. His stubble is a little scratchy.
"Even if I believed you loved me, I don't love you anymore."
Zhong Siyu says with pity.
"Why don't you try taking some medicine, too?"
#The softest manner, the coldest rejection
#Partly set in showbiz, with the whole world happily watching the drama unfold
#One-on-one romance, happy ending, both have flaws and heal each other!
#A long road to redemption, but no changing tops, yay!!!
#Thanks so much for checking out my upcoming story!!!
---There's also another upcoming story on my author page, My Ex Begged Me Not to Die After I Turned into an Omega. Come take a look at the blurb!!!
In 2054, an unknown virus descends upon the world, infecting humanity and causing people to differentiate into the three ABO sexes. Society collapses.
The only way to end the infection for good is to wipe out every omega.
The authorities deploy a hunting squad.
Zhi Qi is searching for insect repellent in a supermarket, trying to cover up the scent of omega pheromones on his body.
When he turns around, his ex-boyfriend Zhou Zhaotang is pointing a gun at his head.
His ex is wearing a hunting squad uniform.
The strong mint scent of an alpha radiates from him.
"Hi..."
Zhi Qi gives an awkward smile.
"You know I hate people pretending to be betas. I'm definitely not pretending, haha."
Experts say that only people with inferior genes differentiate into omegas.
They may be cowardly, vile, immoral, and rotten to the core. They are destined to be eliminated in this great evolution of humanity, and there is no need to feel guilty about their deaths.
Zhi Qi thinks the experts are right.
That Zhou guy used to call him the same things.
Then Zhi Qi loses his temper, grabs a liquor bottle, and smashes it over the guy's head, kicking and breaking two of his ribs. The hospital assumes he was in a car accident. The floor of the lobby is covered in blood.
Zhou Zhaotang's parents curse Zhi Qi out at the hospital.
Highly educated people have a way with words when they insult someone. Their lines are so classic they even trend online. People all over the country get to see Zhi Qi's humiliating image as he's forced to his knees.
In short, their breakup is anything but dignified.
Zhi Qi doesn't think Zhou Zhaotang has any feelings left for him.
The day his omega identity is exposed, he finally stops fighting a pointless battle that has lasted his whole life. He's ready to accept his fate and die.
But Zhou Zhaotang only holds him, biting the gland at the back of his neck, his eyes red from exhaustion.
"Don't die," the alpha gasps, gripping his waist hard. "Please don't die, baby. There has to be a way. I'll figure something out..."
...In a daze, Zhi Qi remembers that experts say omegas are not only vile, but also have the power to bewitch people.
Has Zhou Zhaotang fallen for it?
Well, then he might as well enjoy himself before he dies!
Zhi Qi kicks Zhou Zhaotang away like a dog in heat, his fiery temper from years ago briefly flaring back to life.
"I'm hungry. I want congee. Go make it!"
...Heaven knows he's only bluffing.
The tall alpha in his hunting squad uniform takes the opportunity to kiss his fingers, eyes swimming with overwhelming love.
"As long as you're alive, I'll do anything for you."
*A noble and upright top turned rabid dog x a beautiful, strong, miserable little firecracker turned listless bottom
*The bottom has always been a good person!
*Their breakup involves misunderstandings, as well as both of them being immature!
*They will win in the end!
*Not a traditional post-apocalyptic story!
Theme: Self-respect and confidence lead to a better life
In fact, I wanted to talk about it in the last chapter, what does it mean that this director wants to hold on to Wen so much but refuses to show a problem-solving attitude? He wants the movie king to recommend a big production by a famous director to act in his script. He doesn't care about his own loftiness and wants to kidnap others morally. He should obviously take the initiative to say that the schedule can be adjusted.
Xiaoxiao is great! You are now the head of the family, you know, you can be the head of the family!
## (Wrong)
When did Zhao Jiao's wife go bankrupt?
I feel like this agent is really useless.
This director is so chatty that I feel chilled listening to him talk.
The script is indeed quite good, but I am actually quite afraid of an angry young man like Director Liang...
... I just don't understand this Princess Zhao. She fell in love with a loser and found out that the loser likes someone who is not worthy of the stage in her opinion. So everything she has worked hard for so many years suddenly seems to be worthless. All she can think about is that she lost to an 18th-tier actor and feels that she has been humiliated. Don't be a strong female character to tie your self-worth in the eyes of men. What really makes her "cheap" is herself
Who understands sweet stories about the tough growth of protagonists in the entertainment industry? ? ? People with ordinary backgrounds make a comeback against the wind, instead of being some hidden boss with an invincible background and outstanding abilities. We ordinary people can also succeed in the novel for once!
It looks so good, so happy, I love it so much [crying]
Ahhh, I stayed up late reading the article, I loved it. I'm really curious about Zhi's perspective. Is it intentional seduction by directly slapping Ye's butt and having sex in front of Ye? Hahaha. The later period is all about Ye's growth, and there are so few supporting parts. Who knows, arrogant men have the best life [poor] I really want to see the intimate parts of the two of them, Jinjiang, you are really bad [poor]
