Reader advisory: The female lead is worse than a dog. She's the kind of person who'd scatter the ashes in the cremation ground. Readers who are devoted to the love interest or female lead (meaning those who root for the person who spends the early part of a cremation-arc story acting like a lovesick puppy; I couldn't think of a better term, and mean no offense or discrimination) are advised not to read.
When the target of a seduction mission is driven to the brink, they finally give the cold, expressionless woman a miserable smile.
They met when they had nothing and weathered countless storms together, but in the end... she still didn't trust them. Their reflection would never appear in those glassy eyes.
At least their mission was complete. The mission-taker shifts their gaze from the maxed-out affection meter to Qin Hantang's cold expression and says, voice filled with sorrow, "Qin Hantang, let's end things here."
With that, the mission-taker turns and runs toward the cliff, leaping off. Their wide sleeves billow like a butterfly breaking free from its chrysalis.
The wind rushing past as they plummet sounds like a hymn to freedom, celebrating that they no longer have to placate this twisted, obsessive madwoman.
[Ding! The target's affection has dropped to zero.]
[Mission failed. Reward settlement failed.]
Their pupils contract. With effort, the mission-taker turns their head. In the final countdown to death, they can just make out Qin Hantang's lips moving as she leans forward in the yellow light.
"I, Qin Hantang, have never mistreated a loyal subordinate. But if you've been deceiving me from beginning to end..."
Thud!
The mission-taker never gets to hear the rest.
"...then you can die."
Quick transmigration. The female lead is pursued by targets of various genders and orientations, including:
Straight romance, yuri, matriarchal romance, and gender-bender
If you can't handle the mixed orientations, read with caution.
The mission-takers all end in failure, but there are also cases where the female lead loses her struggle against them and gets cornered on all sides by the target's "unintentional actions."
Notes:
Male lead undecided, chastity unclear
Not a doting author. Low-IQ and not a power fantasy
