With another large-scale attack by the Space-Time Retracers imminent, the government of time finally reaches out to certain unique "protagonists of the world" with its wicked hands (ahem, strike that) and offers them a sincere invitation to join its ranks.
Spiritual energy is strange and rare, especially in this era. The government of time discovered long ago that spiritual energy isn't the only thing that can drive the sword spirits. The world's favor and power that certain "protagonists of the world" unconsciously give off can work just as well, and some kinds of power are even more effective than spiritual energy.
Besides, from another perspective, "protagonists of the world" are bound to be people blessed with great fortune. Even if they really are ordinary people, their special nature and the protection of an entire world behind them mean they are unlikely to die as easily as truly ordinary people who merely possess spiritual energy.
Add a few other considerations (use your imagination), and the right "protagonists of the world" seem like the perfect candidates to resolve this urgent crisis.
As for the possible negative consequences of this plan, well, those remain unclear. But the immediate priority is obviously to deal with the Space-Time Retracers' next large-scale attack, so...
Little skits
When the swords eagerly await a glimpse of their Saniwa, Tanaka has, as usual, accidentally fallen asleep.
When the World Consciousness overwhelms everyone to back its protagonist, Tanaka is dozing off.
When the swords panic after discovering their Saniwa has vanished, Tanaka is sleeping soundly, completely unaware.
When the World Consciousness straightens out the timeline and goes to visit its protagonist, Tanaka still hasn't woken up.
P.S. I thought about it and decided to add some blank lines to the chapters I'd already written, so they're easier to read. The content hasn't changed.
Please note:
1. This story combines the anime Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru and Tanaka-kun Is Always Listless, and may borrow scenarios from them for transformative fanfiction.
2. Fang Hong and Fang Yu appear frequently. The previous Saniwa, You Tong, mostly appears in memories and narration, while Tanaka's daily life is fairly uneventful.
3. Tanaka has no romantic pairing. The author quietly started shipping characters from a certain chapter onward, including Mikazuki and Tsurumaru, Shokudaikiri and Heshikiri, and the minor pairing of Tsukimiyama Kazuma and Inoue Sora (who appear at the end).
4. I may continue correcting typos, but I won't change the story itself.
Finally, this story is powered by love and nothing else (*/ω╲*). I hope someone enjoys it! O(∩_∩)O~~
Theme: A slice-of-life story combining Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru and Tanaka-kun Is Always Listless.
I don't know why, but the author insisted on writing so many supporting characters in the early stage and did too much foreshadowing. It feels like there is no priority. I have only seen the protagonist a few times now.
I can't understand it... My mind is racing so fast that I can't keep up with the rhythm.
What is all this⊙?⊙? I don't understand who the protagonist is?
Who is the protagonist? One is Tanaka, the other is Fang Yu, and the other is Fang Hong.
Tanaka-kun finally achieved his wish: a protagonist with no sense of existence
Is this a story that lasts for four chapters and our male protagonist only appears once, and the rest of the time survives in the text?
Three months, four hours?
Haha, the small theater is so fun
Take this step back a little far, go straight up (bushi)
I hit it (??????????)
