Lu Xinzhu was disabled and destitute. He died at eighteen, only to learn that he was a supporting character in a novel called The War of the Wealthy.
In the novel, the sinister, scheming villain Ying Huidu toys with the hero's group as if they were in the palm of his hand. He's a nightmare shared by readers and the protagonists alike, and just hearing his name gives you another point of psychological trauma. Lu Xinzhu was his doomed white moonlight. They met when they had nothing, but fate kept them apart, and they never saw each other again before Lu's death.
-
Ten years after Lu Xinzhu's death, he is reborn as a disposable character sent to warm the villain's bed. When he hears this, he doesn't cry or make a fuss. Instead, his eyes light up: This kind of good fortune is real?
So when the sinister villain Ying Huidu sees the boy on his bed and coldly threatens to throw him from the second floor and leave him half-paralyzed, Lu Xinzhu leaps up and throws himself into Ying's arms, cheering: "You little brat! Your dad crawled up from the underworld!"
Ying Huidu: ???
The big boss, who had always been calculating and ruthless, turns to stone the instant he sees Lu Xinzhu.

After the white moonlight is reborn, Ying Huidu gives him anything he wants, indulging and spoiling him like a lovesick fool.
During Lu Xinzhu's first week back, he wants instant noodles. Ying Huidu hires master chefs from all eight major culinary traditions at great expense, and they turn instant noodles into a culinary masterpiece.
During Lu Xinzhu's second week back, he wants to travel. Ying Huidu takes him around the country in a private jet, buying a vacation villa wherever they go.
During Lu Xinzhu's third week back, he wants to see what the bars and nightclubs from the stories are like. His subordinates are already prepared to buy up the entire bar district in City A for their young master's entertainment, just waiting for General Manager Ying to give the word.
Who could have guessed that Ying Huidu would gently pat Lu Xinzhu's head and say, "We're not going to a nightclub. I have something even better to show you." Then he pulls a thick stack of documents from his desk.
Lu Xinzhu opens them: an admission letter. He looks up, and seven tutors walk in, smiling warmly at him, as if they plan to take turns every day and wear him down to nothing.
Lu Xinzhu bursts into tears.
No wonder everyone says his childhood friend is a villain. It's true!
-
After Lu Xinzhu died, Ying Huidu always wore black and never celebrated another birthday. Everyone knew he was the white moonlight's widower, destined to remain faithful to him for the rest of his life.
But Ying Huidu never imagined that one day Lu Xinzhu would throw himself into his arms again and tell him, "I'm back."
That light had finally returned.
