Dating Yi Yong

Originally titled Life-Extension System

My fiance and I broke off our engagement.

Because he only cared about ghosts, while I only cared about money. There was nothing I could do. I had a wealth-accumulation System in my head constantly reminding me that I needed money to extend my life, not to mention a whole Honmaru full of swords to raise.

I used to believe in love, too. My fiance and I had known each other for over five years, most of which we spent surrounded by blood and flashing blades. But he was hopelessly unromantic. When I put on some face powder, he panicked and thought I was gravely ill and about to die. When I hoped he'd do something romantic, he brought me a bunch of wild chrysanthemums so fresh he hadn't even plucked off the leaves. Every moment I spent with him, I could feel the HP-1 above my head ticking down, one point at a time.

Love can't put food on the table, after all.

Not long after breaking off my engagement, I accepted the advances of a merchant. He was handsome, and his red eyes always gleamed in the night like beautiful gemstones.

Until I discovered that we weren't in love, and he wanted to eat me, too.

So I ran away. A young woman who worked with my former fiance saved me, and then tried to set us up again.

In front of him, I asked that fatal question once more: Are ghosts more important, or am I?

Tomioka Giyu: Ghosts.

Just as I was about to turn and leave, his junior rushed to stop me. "N-no, Mr. Giyu still has something to say!"

And then he really did lift his eyes. Cloaked in his haori, with the Nichirin Blade removed from his waist, he knelt there solemnly and looked at me.

"I love you."

...Oh no, this is what it feels like to fall for someone.
