The known plot has completely fallen apart. To stay alive, she accompanies the male lead from imprisonment in the imperial garden to opening up the wilderness in Lingnan.

Inwardly: Help, the plot's gone so far off the rails even its mother wouldn't recognize it!!!!!!!!

With a sweet potato in her left hand and a blueprint in her right, Tong Lai is about to achieve her dream of success and fame.

But then she gradually realizes that something is wrong... Her own life seems to be part of the male lead's plan.

On a night when her heart has turned to ashes, she sets the attic ablaze and decisively fakes her death.

Three days later, the inn is suddenly surrounded.

The moment the door bursts open, he walks toward her step by step, letting the dagger in her hand pierce his shoulder. Blood soaks through his robes.

PS:

1. One-on-one romance, both leads are each other's first. The male lead has no romantic storyline with the original novel's heroine, not even in the original plot.

2. The male lead isn't gay. He knows the heroine's true gender.

3. The heroine isn't strong at the beginning, but she'll gradually grow. The male lead is a product of a feudal society and acts like a jerk early on, but he'll slowly change and improve. He's an authority figure who eventually lowers his head and goes mad for her.

4. To develop the plot, there are multiple points of view early on. After that stage, it gradually shifts to the heroine's perspective.
