When Gu Rongyu tastes clumps of salt in the egg fried rice Yu Qingci made, he looks up at the woman sitting by the table, propping her head up and watching him expectantly. Then, without changing expression, he swallows and smiles. "Not bad. You've improved."

The woman's eyes light up. "Really?"

He takes a leisurely sip of water and raises an eyebrow. "Much better than your eggshell fried rice. It won't get stuck in your teeth or crunch when you bite it."

Whenever Meng Sangyu argues with Xie Xun, and realizes she's in the wrong and can't win the argument, she angrily draws all kinds of imagined scenes in her sketchbook. Somehow, drawing them out helps her feel better.

Then one day, the sketchbook is discovered.

Xie Xun calmly leans back on the sofa and flips through it, clearly admiring the drawings. He even asks the dejected woman standing beside him, "Oh? These two little figures are drawn pretty well. What's with the one kneeling? It's tied up and being whipped. What did it do?"

Meng Sangyu: "...Nothing. One of them is wielding a whip, and the one kneeling admires it, so it knelt down."

Xie Xun turns another page and clicks his tongue again. "What's going on here? It just checked whether the durian was ripe with its knees, then watched the one wielding the whip. Why did it get beaten up again? Poor thing."

Meng Sangyu: "...It's called performance art."

Xie Xun gives her a knowing smile. "Then explain why all these people have 'Xie Ah Gou' written above them."

The day her best friend gets dumped, Meng Sangyu goes to keep her company. She listens to her friend recount their time together, and in the end, Meng Sangyu cries even harder than her friend. Her eyes are swollen by the time she gets home.

Xie Xun asks what happened, and the more she explains, the more she sobs, complaining through her tears, "Men are all terrible!"

"What a scumbag!"

Xie Xun: "..."

She keeps ranting to Xie Xun about the scumbag until his head aches. There's only one thought in his mind: Who the hell is this guy? I hope I never see you, or I'll light up your grave!

Meng Sangyu tugs at his sleeve. "Are you even listening? He's awful!"

Grinding his teeth, Xie Xun simply hauls her back to their room to settle the score for this mistaken accusation.
