The Song of Kang

They say the young know nothing of sorrow.

They say the jianghu is full of dangers.

They say a gentleman's friendship is as clear as water.

They say to forget one another in the jianghu, like morning dew.

But all these sayings pale beside the faint glance exchanged between two people.

They pale beside the slight smile as one lowers their head.

Will they ultimately pass each other by?

Or will they join hands and smile together amid this mortal world?

This is a slow-burn story. If you have the patience, please take your time reading it. Some say the first chapters are as mild as plain tea, but after the tea comes strong liquor. I truly hope you'll keep reading. Still, whether you prefer greens or radishes, I'm grateful to everyone who clicked on this story, read the first dozen or so chapters and gave up, or finished the whole thing.

I recently discovered that many people have reposted this story on other sites. This story is published exclusively on Jinjiang, and reposting it on any site is not permitted. If you truly like it, please don't spread it around. That would be one way to show respect for all the time I spent writing it.
