Aside from a change to the female lead's character, the characters' portrayals respect the original novel. If you haven't read the novel and have only watched the drama, feel free to bookmark this and savor it at your own pace. Thank you!
Plot:
Wan'er: Torturing my husband feels great for a while. Torturing him forever feels great forever.
Fan Xian: Darling, aren't you afraid you'll drive me away and have to win me back?
Wan'er: Given Lord Xiao Fan's nature of repaying every grudge, I doubt there'll be any winning you back. It'll just be a bloodbath.
Fan Xian: My darling is so graceful and virtuous, and so considerate of the greater good. Just remember, don't make an enemy of your husband.
Theme: What is love, if you ask the world?
So, madam, are you cooing? When will you come back?
Is this the book version of Fan Xian?
