The Top Refuses to Play the Substitute

Five years ago, Kaoulixi lost the person he loved most. Later, the empire's second prince, known for his cold and reclusive nature, was constantly torn apart by despair and pain, his heart in agony, unable to sleep night after night. One day, he met someone who looked a lot like his beloved. Black hair and eyes, a serene bearing, but a completely different face. The other man's beauty was like a flower blooming in brilliant sunshine. But he really did look so much like him... So should he let go of the past and fall in love again with someone who resembled his beloved? No. Kaoulixi made his refusal clear through his actions. At first, he paid attention to Bai Muyan only because of the things he did that reminded him of his beloved. But later, when Bai Muyan took the opposing side, he became an eyesore. Kaoulixi's murderous intent never wavered for a moment. But on the day the other man's true identity was revealed, the young man leaned against a corner of the wall, raised his hand, heavy with shackles, to wipe the blood from his lips, then smiled wearily at the surveillance camera and said softly, "I'm back." A biological mask, peeled away from the skin, lay on the ground. His true face was exposed. Watching it all on the screen, the cold-faced man stared in horror, his eyes almost popping out, his hands trembling uncontrollably. He looked like he was going mad. In that moment, he knew. His dead beloved had come back. Just as he had left him covered in wounds. P.S. 1. No love rival. This is a story about me planning to play my own substitute, only for the other person to refuse to play along, and a mutually hostile relationship that turns into a desperate, regret-filled pursuit later on. 2. The love interest doesn't change, and the top is not a scumbag at all. 3. Angsty memories with a little sweetness at first, then sweet later. Theme: The true meaning of love is wholehearted devotion, from beginning to end.
